The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the National Petroleum Authority (NPA), Godwin Edudzi Tameklo, has given the assurance that Ghana has adequate fuel reserves to meet national demand for more than two months.
He said this while addressing the Parliamentary Select Committee on Energy during a stakeholder engagement at Senchi on Saturday.
The 17-member committee, chaired by Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, is engaging various players within the energy sector to assess their operations, objectives, financials, and challenges.
The meeting forms part of efforts to ensure stability and efficiency within Ghana’s energy supply chain.
Mr. Tameklo disclosed that Ghana currently has over 200 million litres of petrol and 150 million litres of diesel in reserve.
Mr. Tameklo added that vessels carrying additional fuel supplies are already positioned within Ghanaian territorial waters, further strengthening the country’s fuel security.
“I can assure the good people of Ghana that we have enough stock to last us beyond two months, and with all the ongoing efforts, we are confident that there will be no supply disruptions,” he stated.
