The Attorney-General’s office has said no evidence has been lost in the ongoing criminal trial of Republic v Adu-Boahene and three others, contrary to speculations.
According to Deputy Attorney General Dr. Justice Srem-Sai, all necessary documents to prove the charges against the four accused persons have been filed and served on the accused.
The documents include contracts of sale, bank records, company registration documents, property ownership records, and investigative statements, among others.
Prior to the conclusion of the 2024/25 Legal Year, the first of the three prosecution witnesses is in the witness boss facing cross examination by lawyers of the third accused person.
The trial is set to resume in mid-October after the legal vacation, with the Attorney-General’s office confident in its preparedness to prosecute the case.
“As of June 18, we had filed all the documents which we intend to rely on to prove the charges against the 4 accused persons in the case,” Dr. Srem-Sai stated in a Facebook post on Thursday, August 28.

CASE DOCUMENTATION:
As of June 18, we had filed all the documents which we intend to rely on to prove the charges against the 4 accused persons in the case. The documents include contracts of sale, bank wire transfer records, bank account statements, company registration documents, property ownership records and purchase receipts, INTERPOL stolen vehicle records, investigative caution statements and charge statements of each accused person, records of asset non-declaration, a flow chat of money movements through a complex web of bank accounts, and testimonies of our 3 witnesses.
Further, court certified copies of each of these documents have been duly served on each of the accused persons. So, it is not even realistic that the documents could be lost so as to jeopardise the prosecution of the case.
CURRENT STATE OF TRIAL:
Before the start of the legal vacation on July 31, the first of our 3 prosecution witnesses had completed testifying and had been cross-examined by the lawyers of 3 of the 4 Accused Persons.
The trial will resume in earnest in mid-October when the courts return from the legal vacation.
