In a powerful show of solidarity, members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) UK and Ireland Chapter have pledged their unwavering support to ensure an NDC victory in Ghana’s upcoming general election on December 7. During a compelling interview on Inside Politics, aired on Power FM/TV XYZ, leading NDC members abroad expressed their determination to bolster the party’s efforts back home.
Gifty Ohui Agbenu, the current deputy organizer of the NDC UK & Ireland Branch, articulated the chapter’s mission:
“We may live in the UK, but what happens in Ghana deeply affects us due to our family ties. We are here to support our NDC comrades and ensure thorough preparation for the election. We commend all NDC members, especially the constituency executives, for their tireless efforts to regain power. Rest assured, we stand with you during these challenging times of hardship and despondency.”
Fauzia Amadu Sorogho, the South London Branch Women’s Organizer, expressed deep concern over Ghana’s economic difficulties:
“The depreciation of the cedi and rising inflation are severely impacting businesses and making life difficult for ordinary Ghanaians. I feel the hardship and empathize deeply with every Ghanaian, particularly the lower class. The exchange rate has drained the funds I brought with me due to inflation. I urge all Ghanaians not to lose hope but to unite and work diligently with the NDC to ensure the current government is voted out in December.”
Former Secretary for the Chapter, Micheal Kudiabor, reinforced the commitment of the diaspora:
“Our mission in Ghana is clear – to ensure the NDC returns to power this December. I encourage every Ghanaian to resist the current government’s attempts to sway their votes with money. Instead, vote for the NDC and Mahama to form the next government.”
Richard Kudiabor, the West London Branch Secretary, emphasized strategic voting:
“It is crucial for NDC members to avoid ‘Skirt and Blouse’ voting to secure a majority in Parliament and ensure an overwhelming victory for John Mahama in the presidential race.”
Awudu Saani, the immediate past Deputy Secretary for UK/Ireland and a member of the Election and IT Directorate in the Savannah Region NDC, concluded with a firm resolve:
“We are committed to helping the NDC return to power because the current government has not performed well. Our resolve is stronger than ever.”
The NDC UK and Ireland Chapter’s active involvement and support reflect their dedication to the party’s success. Their contributions aim to strengthen the NDC’s campaign efforts in Ghana, demonstrating a powerful unity and resolve to see the NDC emerge victorious in the forthcoming elections.
