The lifeless body of a staff member of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) at the Kwabre East Municipal Assembly was recovered on Thursday, September 11, from a stream between Abira and Krobo in the Municipality.
The deceased, 60-year-old Thomas Obeng, who was recovering from an illness he had recently suffered, left Abira to visit his wife, who lives in the nearby community of Krobo.
Although he had informed his wife that he was returning to Abira, his whereabouts remained unknown until his lifeless body was discovered in the stream, though it is still unclear what happened.
Police have since conveyed the body and deposited it at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).
Assembly Member for the Abira Electoral Area, Isaac Owusu Bempah, confirmed the incident.
