The Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC) says it has successfully retrieved three government vehicles from the residence of Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman, Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi.
According to MASLOC CEO Abigail Elorm Mensah, the operation was carried out with support from National Security operatives.
She revealed that five state vehicles were originally in Wontumi’s possession, and while three have been reclaimed, efforts are ongoing to recover the remaining two.
“He has to pay for them,” the CEO stressed, noting that MASLOC’s procedures require defaulters to either return assets or settle outstanding debts before the vehicles are released back to them.
The CEO further disclosed that similar cases of misappropriated vehicles and loans have been reported to the police, warning that no individual—regardless of political standing—will be allowed to hold on to state property unlawfully.
“This is not just about one person. We are retrieving them one by one,” she emphasized.
