Ghana’s First Lady, Lordina Dramani Mahama, has travelled to Washington, D.C. to participate in a high-level global summit focused on the future of children in the digital space.
This was announced by the Minister of State in charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, in a statement on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.
The event, known as the Fostering the Future Together Global Coalition Summit, is being convened by Melania Trump and brings together first spouses from different countries to exchange ideas on protecting children online while promoting equal access to technology.
The meeting is expected to explore practical approaches to strengthening digital safety frameworks and ensuring that technological advancements benefit children without exposing them to harm.
Ahead of the summit, Mrs Mahama reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to safeguarding children in an increasingly digital world. “Ghana stands ready to ensure technology becomes a force for empowerment, not endangerment, for every child. Our children’s future is our shared moral duty and generational responsibility.”
Her participation reflects Ghana’s engagement in global conversations aimed at shaping policies that balance innovation with the protection and wellbeing of young people.
