The Ministry of the Interior has ordered a full investigation into claims that Special Prosecutor (OSP) Mr. Kissi Agyebeng survived two assassination attempts while performing his duties.
The allegations were made by Samuel Appiah Darko, Director of Strategy, Research, and Communications at the Office of the Special Prosecutor, who also claimed he was handcuffed and beaten by 17 police officers. The claims were made on Newsfile on Joy FM on December 6, 2025.
Preliminary checks indicate that the alleged threats to Mr. Agyebeng’s life occurred prior to 2025, and no official reports have been filed with police or state security agencies.
The Minister of Interior has directed that both the alleged assassination attempts and claims of police abuse be thoroughly investigated.
The Ministry pledged to update the public on the outcome and any actions taken.
A statement from the Ministry emphasized its commitment to protecting lives and property, ensuring that all Ghanaians can carry out lawful activities without fear.
