A group calling itself the Coalition of NABCo trainees has reminded the flagbearer of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of a promise he made to them during his campaign tour of the Volta Region.
The group in a statement issued on Monday, 24 June 2024, noted that the NPP flagbearer, during his campaign tour of the Volta Region made “a significant promise to vulnerable former NABCO trainees committing to pay the Trainees 9-month arrears.”
According to the group, weeks have passed “without action, and silence has followed.”
The group is therefore demanding that the NPP flagbearer and Vice-President fulfills the promise made to its members.
It emphasised that the “broken promises and neglect are staggering,” thus it will no longer “remain silent on this matter.”
“Unpaid arrears and the unfulfilled promise to mechanise the scheme have left us struggling to survive in the grim economic outlook under your leadership,” the coalition indicated.
It therefore urged Dr. Bawumia to “honour” his promise and release their “outstanding arrears” without “further delay.”
The coalition also demanded the “immediate payment” of the outstanding arrears.
