The Children’s Support Fund, set up in memory of the eight victims of the August 6 helicopter crash, has received a fresh wave of donations, bringing the total contributions to GH¢6,583,600 and US$20,000.
This was announced by Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, Dr. Valerie Sawyerr in a statement on Saturday.

The Fund, unveiled by President John Dramani Mahama during the state funeral on August 15, is designed to cover the children’s education from basic to tertiary level, as well as healthcare, housing, clothing, insurance, and other essentials.
Earlier, Stanbic Bank Ghana seeded the Fund with GH¢500,000 and opened dedicated accounts at its Heights Branch in Accra for both cedi and dollar donations. Mobile money payment options have also been introduced to encourage wider public participation.
