The University of Health and Allied Sciences in Ho, has been renamed after late President Mills, as the John Evans Atta Mills University of Health and Allied Sciences.
This was disclosed by the Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu during the inauguration of the University’s new Governing Council at the Ministry on Wednesday, May 28,2025.
According to the ministry, the change in name is to honor the memory of the late President for the pivotal role he played in the establishment of UHAS and his unflinching commitment to the country’s health and educational sector.
Welcoming the decision, the Chair of the Council, Prof Kodzo Gavua reiterated the University’s commitment to academic excellence and nation-building.
Prof J.E.A Mills UHAS remains a leading University committed and dedicated to training skilled health professionals for across the world.
