The Ghana Highway Authority has announced a temporary lane reduction on the Madina–Accra and Accra–Madina carriageways at the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange.
The project, which starts on Sunday, June 22, is expected to take about four months to complete and is aimed at ensuring the safety of both pedestrians and construction workers.
A statement from the Highway Authority, issued on behalf of the Ministry of Roads and Highways on Thursday, June 19, noted that the initiative forms part of the ongoing Accra-Tema Motorway and Extensions Project (19.5km).
According to the statement, the number of lanes in both directions will be reduced from four to three to facilitate central pier construction works for the expansion of the Tetteh Quarshie Interchange Bridge.
GHA has advised motorists to exercise caution and follow instructions from traffic management personnel throughout the construction period.
