The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released funds for the procurement of perishable food items for Senior High and Technical Schools across the country.

In a statement dated Monday, April 20, 2026, and signed by Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, the Service said the move is aimed at ensuring the timely supply of essential food items to schools.

“Management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) wishes to inform the general public, particularly stakeholders in the education sector, that the outstanding funds for the procurement of perishable food items for Senior High/Technical Schools across the country have been released to the Service,” the statement said.

GES indicated that steps are already underway to distribute the funds to beneficiary institutions nationwide.

“Management has initiated processes to ensure the efficient distribution of these funds to the various schools,” it added.

The Service also assured stakeholders that strict monitoring measures have been implemented to guarantee proper use of the funds.

“Monitoring and accountability mechanisms have been put in place to ensure that the funds are utilised judiciously and solely for their intended purpose,” the statement noted.

GES reaffirmed its commitment to improving student welfare and educational outcomes across the country.

“Management of the Service assures all stakeholders of its unwavering dedication to the welfare of students and the continuous improvement of educational outcomes across the country,” it concluded.
