Four persons have been arrested in connection with the recovery of 21 suspected stolen mobile phones in Kasoa during the Easter festivities.
This was announced by the police in a statement dated Monday, April 6, 2026.
According to the police, the suspects were picked up during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Kasoa-Ofaakor-Bawjiase-Swedru road at about 3:45 a.m. A Toyota Hiace vehicle was intercepted, and a thorough search led to the discovery of multiple mobile phones believed to have been stolen.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects allegedly engaged in theft during Easter celebrations at Agona Swedru, targeting unsuspecting revelers and making away with several mobile devices.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations, while the recovered phones have been kept as evidence.
“A thorough search of the vehicle uncovered twenty-one (21) assorted mobile phones believed to have been stolen by the suspects.”
Authorities are urging anyone who may have lost a phone during the period to report to the Kasoa Divisional Police Command for identification and possible retrieval of their property.
The police say efforts are ongoing to ensure the suspects are prosecuted, as part of broader measures to clamp down on crime during and after the festive season.
