Daniel Omane, a 29-year-old Mobile Phone Dealer in Koforidua allegedly attacked with acid by his girlfriend, Vera Akosua Asare, has passed away.
The victim died at Korle Bu Teaching Hospital Friday July 25,2025 .
Following the death of the victim, Police has rearrested and remanded the accused who was on court bail for fresh charges against her.
The incident occurred early this year.
The victim suffered life threatening injuries and was referred from the Eastern Regional Hospital to the Reconstructive and Plastic Surgery Center of Korle Bu Teaching hospital in February where he has since been on admission undergoing treatment and skin grafting.
The accused, Vera Akosua Asare, who initially lived with the mother in Koforidua, moved to cohabitate with Daniel Omane after giving birth to their baby girl who is now two years old.

The relationship became strained due to frequent misunderstandings stemming from suspicion that the boyfriend was flirting with other girls.
This tension forced Daniel Omane to end the relationship.
On the day of the attack, Daniel Omane was asleep in his room in the evening, when Vera Asare sneaked in and allegedly poured acid on him.
She attempted to runaway but co-tenants in the house heard the screams of the victim and rushed out.
The suspect was arrested and handed over to the police while the victim rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital and later referred to Korle -Bu Teaching Hospital.

Vera Asare was remanded into police custody but granted bail by the court to take care of the baby.
In an interview with EIB -Networks Eastern Regional Correspondent Kojo Ansah in March, Comfort Batsa, mother of the victim expressed the financial distress of the family stating that the family has sold its plot of land to cover the rising medical bills but yet could not afford all the expenses.
Initially Doctors at Korle Bu suggested to the family to fly the victim to abroad for plastic surgery if they had the financial means.
The family however could not afford the foreign treatment.
