The Ministry of Defence has announced a large-scale recruitment campaign to significantly expand the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) over the next three years.
A total of 12,000 new personnel will be enlisted to strengthen the country’s defence capacity.
In a Facebook post, the Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Genfi, stated that the exercise reflects President John Dramani Mahama’s commitment to fairness and national inclusion.
He revealed that the cost of recruitment forms has been reduced by more than 40% compared to the last exercise, making the process more affordable to young Ghanaians across the country.
“In addition to the huge cut in the cost of recruitment form, the recruitment will take place across all regions, ensuring equal opportunity and national inclusion,” he stated.
Mr. Genfi cautioned the public against fraudulent schemes, stressing that recruitment is not for sale and will not be conducted on social media.
“Any individual or syndicate involved in fraudulent recruitment schemes will be dealt with without mercy. The process will be transparent and professional. All qualified applicants must be medically fit and be prepared to abandon all hope of normal life!,” he warned.
The Ministry of Defence indicated that full details of qualifications, procedures, and regional centres for the recruitment will be published within the week on official websites, newspapers, and other credible platforms.
The Deputy Minister concluded that the initiative is part of efforts to build a military force that reflects Ghana’s strength, discipline, and unity.
