An Accra Circuit Court has granted bail to TikTok personality Prince Ofori, popularly known as Fante Comedy, and social media activist Daniel Adomako, alias Sir Obama Pokuase, following their separate arrests for various crimes.
Fante Comedy was granted bail in the sum of GH¢100,000 with three sureties, two of whom must be gainfully employed. The court also ordered him to surrender his passport to the police until further notice.
He was arrested on August 12, 2025, along with one person, for allegedly issuing death threats and spreading false information related to the August 6 military helicopter crash. His case has been adjourned to August 25, 2025.
In a related development, the court granted Sir Obama Pokuase bail of GH¢50,000 with three sureties.
According to the ruling, two must be salaried workers, while one must be a government employee earning at least GH¢3,000 monthly.
He was arrested on August 13, 2025, during an intelligence-led operation targeting the illegal possession and public display of sophisticated firearms.
Despite being granted bail, both men still remain in police custody while their paperwork and sureties are verified.
Police say the arrests are part of a wider crackdown on illegal arms networks and false information circulating on social media, following growing concerns about national security in the aftermath of the fatal helicopter crash.
