The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested seven individuals, including a juvenile, in connection with a robbery incident at Ashaiman.
The suspects were apprehended at Sakaska Park and Dagomba Junction following swift police operations.
In a statement dated Tuesday, June 24, by the Head of Public Affairs, ASP Dede Dzakpasu, the Police revealed that the suspects allegedly attacked and robbed victims at gunpoint, making away with mobile phones, a Dell laptop, a power bank, and cash.
According to the Police, with support from members of the public, two suspects — Moses Kwame Helu and Jonathan Osabutey — were arrested at the scene.
Further intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of Robert Amekudzi and a juvenile (name withheld), who were found in possession of a robbed backpack and a Dell laptop with its charger.
Additionally, Bernard Dzumador and another juvenile were arrested with an iPhone 12 Pro Max and a Samsung A03, both of which were stolen during the robbery.
The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations and are expected to be arraigned before the court soon.
The statement added that “Acting on intelligence, Police later arrested suspects Robert Amekudzi, and one juvenile (name withheld) with the robbed backpack and the Dell laptop with its charger. The Police later arrested the suspects Bernard Dzumador and another juvenile (name withheld) with the IPhone 12 Pro Max and the Samsung A03, which were robbed from the complainants”
The Police commended members of the public for their assistance and urged residents to continue volunteering timely information to help combat crime in the area.
