TikTok personality Lopez has publicly apologized to legislator Vincent Ekow Assafuah following backlash over videos in which she made allegations against him.
The apology comes after Lopez’s earlier posts sparked widespread debate on social media, with many questioning the truthfulness of her claims.
In her new video, Lopez acknowledged that her statements were false and expressed regret for the impact they may have had on Assafuah’s reputation.
Speaking directly to the camera, she said, “Hello, good morning. I have a confession to make. I didn’t mean to disgrace someone like this. I’m just doing it for a joke. Moreover, I didn’t know the results would lead to something like this. So please, before God and man, I don’t know him. So help me apologize to him. Thank you very much.”
Lopez’s apology underscores the growing awareness among content creators about the potential consequences of spreading unverified claims online.
