Presidential Staffer Nana Yaa Jantuah has sharply criticised the New Patriotic Party (NPP), insisting that the party should be “ashamed to even speak” after its devastating defeat in the 2024 general elections.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosiisen, Jantuah said the NPP’s loss was a direct result of what she described as arrogance, disrespect, and reckless economic mismanagement.
“NPP should never talk,” she said bluntly. “They should be very ashamed to have the audacity to talk today. Look at the miserable minority in Parliament. From 169 seats to 137, and now 88. That’s the result of their bad behaviour and poor economic management.”
She added, “The NPP is very arrogant and disrespectful, they don’t respect anyone. And that’s why their numbers will keep dropping. Ghanaians will never vote for them again. Such a mafias.”
Jantuah’s remarks echo widespread public frustration that swept the NPP out of office, with many voters citing rising inflation, youth unemployment, and a depreciating currency as signs of poor governance.
Analysts say the election outcome was a rejection of the NPP’s leadership style and policies.
