The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) has disclosed that clearance has not been granted for students of three public Colleges of Education whose allowances were delayed following the recent disbursement.
In a statement dated Monday, October 26, 2026, the association named Savannah College of Education, Christ the Teacher College of Education and Ghana Muslim Mission College of Education as the institutions awaiting clearance.
TTAG said its leadership had engaged the Student Loan Trust Fund (SLTF) over concerns raised by trainees who did not receive their allowances during the recent payment exercise.
The association, however, indicated that trainees of Al-Faruq College of Education who missed the recent disbursement were expected to receive their payments before the end of October 2026.
“Trainees of Al-Faruq College of Education who did not receive their allowances during the recent disbursement are expected to receive payment before the end of October 2026,” the statement said.
The association also urged all teacher trainees to verify their registration details and the status of their Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) accounts to avoid further delays.
“All Trainees are encouraged to verify their registration details and Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) account status and promptly rectify any errors or outstanding requirements to facilitate payment happening any moment from now,” TTAG stated.
The association said it would continue engaging relevant stakeholders in teacher education to address the concerns of affected students and ensure that outstanding allowances are paid as soon as possible.
“The Association will continue engaging relevant Stakeholders in Teacher education to address Trainees’ concerns and ensure that all affected Trainees receive their allowances as soon as possible,” the statement added.
The update comes amid concerns among teacher trainees who were excluded from the latest allowance disbursement. However, TTAG did not specify when clearance would be granted for the three colleges or provide a definite payment date for their affected students.
