President John Dramani Mahama has arrived in Moscow, Russia, from Ethiopia to participate in the 3rd Russia-Africa Forum hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
President Mahama is expected to join other African leaders for an Economic and Humanitarian Forum and participate in plenary sessions of the summit.
As part of his visit, two Russian universities – the Russian University of Transport and the Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia – are expected to confer honorary doctorate degrees on him at separate ceremonies.
The President will also visit a kente exhibition organised by the Russia-Ghana Parliamentary Forum, highlighting Ghana’s cultural heritage during the visit.
He is scheduled to hold a high-level bilateral meeting with President Putin to discuss issues of mutual interest between Ghana and Russia.
President Mahama is also expected to meet representatives of Russian businesses and state institutions as part of efforts to strengthen bilateral cooperation and explore areas of economic partnership.
His participation in the forum is expected to provide an opportunity for Ghana to deepen its engagement with Russia and other African countries on economic, humanitarian and diplomatic issues.
