The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Dr John Jinapor, has congratulated Kosmos Energy Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Andrew “Andy” Inglis, on receiving the Mohammed S. Barkindo Lifetime Achievement Award at the African Energy Awards 2026.
Dr Jinapor said the recognition celebrated Mr Inglis’ outstanding contributions to Africa’s energy sector and his lasting impact on the industry.
In a congratulatory message, the minister described the honour as well deserved, acknowledging the Kosmos Energy chief executive’s contributions to the development of the continent’s energy industry.
The Mohammed S. Barkindo Lifetime Achievement Award recognises significant contributions and lasting influence in the energy sector.
Mr Inglis leads Kosmos Energy, an international oil and gas exploration and production company with significant operations in Ghana, including its involvement in the Jubilee and TEN offshore oil fields.
His recognition comes as Ghana intensifies efforts to attract investment into its upstream petroleum sector, expand oil production and strengthen the supply of natural gas for domestic power generation.
The government has been pursuing measures to encourage further investment in existing oil fields while reviewing the country’s petroleum fiscal regime to make the sector more competitive and attractive to international investors.
