Former Executive Director of Danquah Institute, Gabby Otchere-Darko, has celebrated former Vice President and New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate Dr Mahamudu Bawumia on his 63rd birthday, describing him as a man of remarkable character, humility and leadership.

In a birthday message, by the man popoularly known as Gabby dedcribed Dr Bawumia as his “friend, brother and leader” and recounted his longstanding relationship with the former Vice President.

He said he first got to know Dr Bawumia closely nearly two decades ago when Bawumia welcomed him, Ken and Joe into his home at Kanda.

According to Gabby, his interactions with Dr Bawumia over the years had convinced him of the former Vice President’s character and temperament.

“I have never seen you angry, heard you insult anyone or known you to be touched by scandal,” he said, describing Dr Bawumia as loyal, patriotic and humble.

Gabby further praised the NPP presidential candidate for his confidence and belief in the ability of Ghanaians to achieve greater things.

He noted that Dr Bawumia’s 63rd birthday coincided with the NPP formally recognising him as the party’s leader, describing the development as fitting given his experience within the party and national politics.

“Whoever emerges to contest you in 2028 will face a man with nearly two decades of preparation, experience and a demonstrated instinct for solving problems,” Gabby stated.

He said Dr Bawumia possessed the dignity to lead, the temperament to make difficult decisions and the vision to identify opportunities where others might see impossibilities.

Gabby also highlighted the growing impact of Artificial Intelligence and other emerging technologies, arguing that Ghana requires leadership capable of understanding the future and preparing the country’s young people for the opportunities and challenges ahead.

He expressed the hope that Dr Bawumia’s leadership would help transform the anxieties of young people into ambition and create pathways from ambition to opportunity and prosperity.

Gabby concluded his message by praying for God to grant Dr Bawumia good health, strength and wisdom for the journey ahead.

“Happy birthday, Doc!” he added.
