Chief Justice His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie has commended the Minerals Income Investment Fund (MIIF) for its progress in managing and investing proceeds from Ghana’s mineral resources.
He also underscored the importance of strong and effective institutions in creating the confidence needed to attract and sustain investment in Ghana’s mining sector.
The Chief Justice made the remarks during an engagement with the leadership of MIIF, which focused on governance, institutional collaboration and investor confidence in the mining industry.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss ways of strengthening institutional cooperation and governance within the mining sector while creating a stable and predictable environment for investors.
Chief Executive Officer of MIIF, Justina Nelson, disclosed that the Fund recorded GH¢5.43 billion in mineral royalty receipts and GH¢1.1 billion in audited profit in 2025.
She further revealed that MIIF collected GH¢5.39 billion in mineral royalties during the first half of 2026.
Justice Baffoe-Bonnie’s commendation comes as MIIF continues to expand its role in managing Ghana’s mineral revenues and investing them to generate sustainable value for the country.
The engagement forms part of broader efforts to strengthen governance and institutional collaboration in the mining sector and enhance investor confidence in Ghana’s mineral economy.
