Minister for Local Government, Chietaincy and Religious Affiars, Mahama Ayariga, has undertaken his first working visit to Kumasi to assess the progress of the second phase of the Kejetia Market project.
The visit formed part of efforts by the Minister to familiarise himself with ongoing projects under his ministry and assess their implementation on the ground.
During the visit, Mr Ayariga inspected the Phase II project site and engaged relevant stakeholders on the progress of the development.
The discussions focused on the challenges affecting the completion of the project and measures required to address the bottlenecks and move the project forward.
Mr Ayariga described the Kejetia Market Phase II project as an important development for the Kumasi Metropolis, stressing his commitment to working with relevant authorities and stakeholders to ensure its successful completion.
He said direct engagement with local authorities and stakeholders was necessary to gain a clearer understanding of challenges confronting projects and identify practical solutions to them.
The Minister further indicated that the visit was part of his broader commitment to monitoring development projects under his ministry to ensure that they are effectively implemented and deliver meaningful benefits to communities.
The Kejetia Market Phase II project is expected to complement existing facilities at the Kejetia Market complex and contribute to the development of commercial activities in Kumasi.
