The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has commended the Minister for Roads and Highways, Kwame Governs Agbodza, for what he described as significant road construction and expansion projects underway across the Volta Region.
According to Mr Jinapor, the ongoing road investments will improve connectivity, open up communities and create an environment conducive to increased economic activity and development.
He made the remarks on Sunday, August 30, 2026, during the launch of the Big Push Electrification Project in the Volta Region.
Mr Jinapor said he observed several major road projects as he travelled into the region, prompting him to publicly commend the Roads and Highways Minister for his efforts.
“When I was approaching, I saw massive road construction ongoing, so let me commend my good friend and brother, the Roads Minister, Honourable Kwame Governs Agbodza, for what he is doing,” he said.
He noted that the projects involved not only the construction of new roads but also the expansion of existing routes to ease transportation and improve access to communities across the region.
The Energy Minister said the road investments would complement the government’s efforts to extend electricity to underserved communities, particularly under the Big Push electrification programme.
He stressed that improved road networks and expanded electricity infrastructure were essential to unlocking the economic potential of communities and supporting development.
Mr Jinapor congratulated Mr Agbodza on the progress of the road projects and assured him of the Energy Ministry’s commitment to complementing the road infrastructure investments with expanded electricity access.
“Kwame, my congratulations to you and I wish you all the best. I’m here to complement that with electricity,” he added.
