The Police Administration has interdicted a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Mr. Alhassan Malaika Jibril, over his alleged involvement in a demolition exercise at the Accra Race Course at Borteyman on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
According to the Police Administration, the interdiction is intended to facilitate investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) and the Police Professional Standards Bureau (PPSB) have commenced investigations into the matter.
In a statement signed by the Director-General of Public Affairs, Deputy Commissioner of Police Grace Ansah-Akrofi, the Police Administration said anyone found culpable would be subjected to the due process of the law.
The decision to interdict the officer underscores the Police Administration’s commitment to investigating allegations involving its personnel and ensuring that appropriate action is taken where wrongdoing is established.
The investigations are expected to establish the circumstances surrounding the demolition exercise and determine the role, if any, played by the interdicted officer.
The Police Administration has assured that the matter will be handled in accordance with established procedures and the law.
