The Director of Elections and Information Technology of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Gibril, has urged all aspiring candidates in the party’s upcoming internal elections to ensure that their proposers and seconders are in good standing.
According to him, individuals serving as proposers and seconders for aspiring candidates must have fully paid their party dues to qualify.
Mr Gibril made the call in a statement shared on Facebook as preparations intensify for the NDC’s internal elections.
He emphasised that aspiring candidates must carefully verify the membership status of their proposers and seconders before submitting their nominations.
“Proposers and seconders must be in good standing, meaning they have paid their dues in FULL,” he stated.
The reminder is expected to guide aspirants as they complete the nomination process and help prevent complications arising from the use of party members whose dues are outstanding.
Mr Gibril further encouraged all aspirants to adhere strictly to the party’s rules and requirements governing the internal electoral process.
