The Black Stars returned to training on Thursday evening at Bryant University, less than 24 hours after securing a 1-0 victory over Panama in their opening Group L fixture at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz and his technical team supervised a light recovery session designed to aid player regeneration and prepare the squad for their next challenge against England.
Players who featured in Wednesday’s match underwent low-intensity training, which included gym-based exercises focused on muscle activation and mobility, followed by controlled ball work on the pitch.
The session was closely managed by the team’s fitness and medical staff, with emphasis placed on recovery and injury prevention.
In contrast, substitute players and those who did not feature in the match engaged in a more demanding workout to maintain overall match fitness and sharpness.
Match-winner Caleb Yirenkyi, who scored on his World Cup debut, participated fully in the recovery session alongside goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and the rest of the squad, with no injury concerns reported.
The team will continue its preparations in Rhode Island as it builds up to its second Group L encounter against England
