The Ghana Education Service (Ghana Education Service) has interdicted a teacher at Bole Senior High School in the Savannah Region following the circulation of a social media video allegedly involving the teacher and a student.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, the Service said it became aware of the disturbing footage and immediately launched investigations into the incident.
Pending the outcome of the probe, GES said the teacher has been interdicted in line with its disciplinary procedures and regulations.
“Management has initiated investigations into the matter.
Pending the outcome of the investigations, Management directs that the teacher is interdicted in accordance with GES rules and regulations,” the statement noted.
The Service reiterated its strict zero-tolerance stance on sexual misconduct involving teachers and students, describing such behaviour as a serious breach of professional ethics.
It further cautioned all staff to maintain the highest standards of conduct at all times, stressing that any violation of its ethical guidelines would be dealt with in accordance with established disciplinary processes.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
