Two suspected robbers are in critical condition after they were shot by police officers in the Ashanti Region during an attempted robbery at the residence of a Court of Appeal Judge.
The suspects, who were reportedly armed with cutlasses and scissors, on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, allegedly attempted to break into the judge’s vehicle to carry out the robbery when they were confronted by a police officer on guard duty at the premises.
According to the Ashanti Regional Police Command, the officer discharged his weapon in response to the threat, injuring the two suspects.
In a statement confirming the incident, the police command said the suspects are currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital under police guard.
Police say investigations into the incident are ongoing.
