J.K. Horgle Transport & Co. Limited has been officially recognised as the Overall Best Petroleum Transporter in Ghana’s downstream sector at the 2025 Vivo Energy Ghana Retail Conference and Awards.

The accolade was presented during a high-profile event held in Accra, which brought together key stakeholders from across the petroleum retail and logistics industry to celebrate excellence, review operational performance, and chart the way forward.

Held under the theme “Bigger, Bolder, Better, Together,” the annual conference and awards ceremony is a flagship event on Vivo Energy Ghana’s calendar, aimed at recognising outstanding contributions to safety, service delivery, and innovation within its network.

The prestigious recognition reflects the company’s consistent leadership, safety-first approach, and dedication to high standards in Ghana’s downstream petroleum sector.

For decades, J.K. Horgle Transport has played a critical role in the distribution of petroleum products nationwide, and this award underscores its commitment to operational excellence and industry compliance.

Receiving the award, CEO Mr. Joseph Kwaku Horgle affirmed that safety remains the cornerstone of the company’s operations. “We are honoured to be recognised for our efforts.

This award affirms our focus on discipline, safety, and quality in petroleum transportation,” he remarked.

The celebration was even more meaningful as Etornam Horgli, daughter of Mr. Horgle and General Manager of H2 Oil Enterprise, received the Country Retailer of the Year award. Her remarks captured the spirit of the evening:

“This award is an endorsement of all the hard work our team has put in over the years. As a large transporter and retailer, it’s the people on the field making this possible. Without them, this award would not happen,” she said, dedicating the honour to her team and stressing the importance of teamwork.

The annual Vivo Energy Ghana Retail Conference and Awards serves as a platform to reflect on the year’s performance, celebrate achievements, and reinforce a shared commitment to service excellence.

The 2025 edition brought together Shell retailers, business partners, and stakeholders to discuss challenges, growth strategies, and key initiatives — including the ShePower Project, which supports the advancement of women and girls in STEM.

In his keynote address, Vivo Energy Ghana Managing Director Christian Li acknowledged the year’s economic challenges, including inflation, currency fluctuations, and rising interest rates.

He credited the company’s resilience to collaboration across its network, saying, “Our progress in 2024 is a result of strong partnerships and collective effort.”
