The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has called on the police to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure accountability in the ongoing December 7, elections.
In a recent statement, the National Youth Organizer of the NDC, Mr George Opare Addo emphasized the importance of proper investigative procedures to maintain the integrity of the electoral process and to ensure that justice is served.
Mr Opare Addo expressed the party’s concerns regarding potential intimidation tactics, stating, “Nobody will intimidate anybody. When the right things are done, we will ensure that the right things are done.”

He stressed that the call for justice was particularly directed towards electoral officers and security personnel, warning against any actions that might undermine the democratic process in the run-up to the December 7, elections.
The situation leading to December 7, has been tense, but according to him, calm has been restored with the intervention of the police at the registration centre.
Despite this, the NDC remains dissatisfied with the police’s perceived inaction towards certain activities that have allegedly been instigated by other parties.
He asserted that the NDC did not initiate the disturbances and emphasized the necessity of fairness in handling the situation.
“The NDC is happy that the police have brought calm, but we are also not happy with the way our police have remained quiet about the activities of others when clearly, the NDC did not start the trouble here,” the statement continued.
The party underscored the principle that peace cannot be achieved without justice, calling for an impartial approach to resolving the issues at hand.
