Passengers using VIP Jeoun Transport are still paying old fares despite the company’s announcement to increase transport prices.
The company, on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, announced an upward adjustment in fares across its network, with new prices scheduled to take effect from Wednesday, April 8, 2026.
The revised structure affects both standard and executive coach services on major routes linking Accra, Kumasi and other parts of the country. Under the new pricing, standard fares from Accra to Kumasi were pegged at GHS 120, while trips to Sunyani and Tamale were set at GHS 170 and GHS 290 respectively.
Executive coach fares were also increased, with Accra–Kumasi now priced at GHS 150, Sunyani at GHS 200, and Tamale at GHS 360.
However, checks at the company’s terminal indicate that the new fares have not yet taken effect, as passengers continue to pay the old rates.
Meanwhile, government authorities have reportedly intervened to engage management of the transport company over the proposed fare adjustments and to ensure compliance with regulatory processes governing transport pricing.
