The Ghana Education Service (GES) in the Volta Region has directed Mr. Joshua Vidzro, Headmaster of Dzodze-Penyi Senior High School, to temporarily step aside from his duties following allegations of sexual misconduct involving female students.
The directive, effective immediately, instructs Mr. Vidzro to formally hand over all responsibilities, school records, and property under his custody to the Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North. He is also required to vacate the school premises by Monday, December 8, 2025.
GES clarified that the step-aside order is an administrative measure aimed at ensuring the integrity of the ongoing investigation and preventing any potential interference. “This directive does not constitute a determination or presumption of guilt on your part,” the letter read.
Mr. Vidzro is expected to remain available to assist authorities throughout the investigation but is barred from any direct or indirect contact with the female students involved or potential witnesses.
The Municipal Director of Education for Ketu North has been directed to assume responsibility for the administration and management of the school until further notice.
GES emphasized that the action reflects its commitment to due process and institutional accountability.
