The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has announced that eleven people were injured following a head-on collision on the Accra–Kumasi Highway.
The accident occurred on March 23 at Frimpongso Junction near Enyiresi, involving a Toyota Camry and a Toyota Voxy.
According to GNFS, the casualties—six men and five women—sustained varying degrees of injuries and were immediately transported to the Enyiresi Government Hospital for treatment.
Emergency teams from the Anyinam Fire Station arrived at the scene at 17:27 hours, noting that bystanders had already assisted in rescuing the victims.
Preliminary investigations suggest the crash was caused by the Toyota Camry driver attempting to overtake another vehicle, resulting in a direct collision with the oncoming Toyota Voxy.
The collision caused extensive damage to both vehicles, with estimated repair costs of about GH₵170,000 and salvage expenses around GH₵350,000.
Officials have urged motorists to exercise caution on the highway, particularly when overtaking, to prevent similar accidents in the future.
