Margins ID Group, through its subsidiary Identity Management Systems (IMS) Gambia, has engaged newly recruited members of the Public Relations Unit of the Gambia Immigration Department (GID) as part of a three-day capacity-building programme on The Gambia’s National Identification Management System (NIMs).
The training was aimed at equipping the public relations officers with the knowledge and practical understanding required to effectively communicate the national digital identity project to the public and other stakeholders.
The session was led by Emmanuel Antwi-Adjei, Country Project Manager, who provided practical insights into the role of Margins ID Group and IMS Gambia in supporting the implementation of NIMs.
Participants were taken through the project’s operations, processes and contractual responsibilities, providing them with the necessary context to explain the system accurately, respond to public enquiries and engage effectively with the media.
The engagement forms part of efforts to strengthen communication and stakeholder understanding as The Gambia advances its digital identity agenda.
Mr Antwi-Adjei emphasised the importance of equipping people with the knowledge and tools needed to ensure that digital technologies deliver meaningful benefits to communities.
The programme also highlighted the role of effective public communication in building confidence and understanding around digital identity systems.
Margins ID Group said it remained committed to strengthening partnerships with relevant institutions and supporting informed public conversations about digital identity in The Gambia.
The three-day capacity-building programme is expected to further enhance the ability of GID’s Public Relations Unit to communicate developments relating to NIMs and address questions from citizens, the media and other stakeholders.
