Telecommunication companies across the country have officially started rolling out the 10% to 15% increased data bundle packages today, Tuesday, July 1, 2025, following a government directive aimed at offering more value to consumers.
The initiative, announced by Minister for Communications, Samuel Nartey George, comes after extensive consultations with mobile network operators in response to growing public frustration over high data costs, particularly among young people.
Speaking at a press briefing in Accra last month, Mr. George revealed that the new measures would see data bundle values increased by 10% to 15% across the major networks, though accompanied by slight price adjustments.
Mr. George acknowledged that the changes come at a significant cost to network providers but commended them for their cooperation.
The revised data bundles are now active nationwide.
