State funeral for the late Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings has been scheduled for Friday, November 28, 2025, at Independence Square.
This was announced Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Minister and Spokesperson to the President in a statement on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
Mr. Ofosu indicated that the honor recognizes her lifelong contributions to women’s empowerment and national development.
Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who passed away on October 23, 2025, at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, was a champion for women and children through initiatives such as the 31st December Women’s Movement.
She also remained politically active, serving as the first Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress before founding the National Democratic Party.
She was married to the late former President Jerry John Rawlings and is survived by four children.
