The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has cautioned the public against fraudulent AI-generated videos circulating on social media platforms that appear to feature its Chief Executive Officer, Sammy Gyamfi.
In a public notice, GoldBod said the videos are being used to create misleading impressions and warned members of the public to be vigilant and verify information obtained through unofficial channels.
The Board stressed that it will never request individuals to send money, transfer funds, pay fees, or provide banking and mobile money details through social media platforms, phone calls, or messaging applications.
GoldBod advised anyone who receives such requests to avoid engaging with the perpetrators and report the matter immediately through the institution’s official communication channels.
The Board urged the public to remain cautious when interacting with online content, particularly those involving financial transactions, and to always verify the authenticity of messages before taking any action.
“Stay vigilant. Verify before you trust,” GoldBod advised.
