The Accra Regional Police Command has arrested five individuals and recovered firearms, ammunition and other items suspected to be linked to criminal activities during an intelligence-led operation at Sapeiman Faase in the Accra Region.
The operation, conducted jointly with the National Police Intelligence Directorate (NPID) on July 17, 2026, led to the arrest of Torgbul Agah Semaglo (50), Shadrach Agah Semaglo (22), William Kweku Sedanu (21), Cyril Kassenu (26), and Kingsford Agah Semaglo (18).
Police said a search of the suspects’ premises uncovered several items, including a pump-action gun, a Stoeger ST-R9 pistol, a dummy Austria pistol, ammunition, knives, a face mask, a jackknife and a talisman. The recovered materials have been secured as exhibits to support ongoing investigations.
According to preliminary findings, the suspects are believed to be connected to a criminal network involved in armed robbery and landguard-related activities. Police allege that the weapons recovered may have been used to intimidate and threaten residents in Sapeiman and surrounding communities.
The suspects remain in police custody assisting with investigations as authorities work to determine whether they are linked to other reported crimes and identify any possible accomplices.
The Accra Regional Police Command has also urged residents to remain alert and provide timely information on suspicious activities to assist efforts aimed at improving security in the region. The Command expressed appreciation to members of the public for their continued cooperation in supporting police operations.
