The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of 56 individuals in a series of intelligence-led operations across multiple towns in the Western North Region.

The operations, carried out as part of the “Christmas Special” initiative, targeted suspected criminals involved in illegal activities across Sefwi-Bodi, Asawinsuo, Dadieso, Juaboso, Akontombra, Sefwi-Debiso, Enchi, Sefwi-Bekwai, Donyina, and Bidiem.

According to a post by the Ghana Police Service on X on Tuesday, December 23, the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety and maintain law and order during the festive season.

The police emphasized that the intelligence-led operations aim to dismantle criminal hideouts, curb illegal activities, and ensure a safe environment for residents and travelers during the Christmas holidays.

Further details on the suspects and the nature of their alleged offenses are expected to be released as investigations continue.

The Ghana Police Service continues to urge the public to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely information to help in the fight against crime.
