President John Dramani Mahama will join the people of Asanteman in Kumasi for the final funeral rites of the late Queen Mother, Nana Konadu Yiadom III, scheduled for September 15–18, 2025, at the Manhyia Palace.
The invitation was delivered to the President at the Jubilee House in Accra by a royal delegation led by Amoamanhene Nana Agyenim Boateng I on behalf of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

President Mahama expressed his condolences to the Asantehene and the Ashanti Kingdom, describing the passing of the Queen Mother as a “monumental loss.”
He assured the delegation that he would be present to pay his respects.

Nana Konadu Yiadom III, who passed away on August 7, 2025, at age 98, reigned as the 14th Asantehemaa from 2017 to 2025.
The first daughter of the late Asantehemaa Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem III, she was known for her fairness, wisdom, and dedication to preserving Asante traditions.

Her reign was marked by honesty, firm leadership, and celebrated judgments at her court. She was also deeply connected to the Anglican Church and the Saviour Church of Ghana, where she was baptized in 1959.
The final rites are expected to draw national leaders, traditional rulers, and international dignitaries to Kumasi in honour of her legacy.
