The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), in collaboration with the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), has announced an extension of operational hours at the Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi and the Tamale International Airport, effective June 1, 2025.
In a joint statement, the two aviation bodies said the move aims to enhance domestic connectivity and improve passenger convenience.
It also aims to support increased airline activity between the northern and southern parts of the country.
According to the new schedule, Prempeh I International Airport will now operate until 11:00 p.m., extending its current closing time to three additional hours (8:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.).
Tamale International Airport will also see extended service, now operating from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
“The general public is advised to take note of the extension and be guided accordingly,” the statement said, adding that the adjustments are expected to reduce congestion and provide more flexible scheduling options, especially for business travellers and traders.
