The National Service Authority (NSA) has revealed plans to increase the GH¢715 monthly allowances of National Service personnel across the country, in line with government efforts to improve the welfare of young graduates.

According to the Acting Director-General of the NSA, Ruth Dela Seddoh, discussions are far advanced to determine a new rate.

Addressing the media in Accra, Ms. Seddoh hinted that the proposed increment has the attention of President John Dramani Mahama, though she declined to give specifics on the percentage increase.

“It’s something the President has expressed interest in. But we all know the economic situation we’re in, so we don’t want to press him too hard. Let’s be hopeful,” she stated.

She added that the Authority has held encouraging talks with the Ministry of Finance and other stakeholders and is confident that an upward review will soon be announced.

Meanwhile, the NSA has announced that registration for the 2025/2026 service year will officially begin on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, and close on Wednesday, October 15, 2025.

The directive follows a forensic audit of the Central Service Management Platform (CSMP), which revealed several data integrity and security flaws.

As part of the reform, all registrations completed in June 2025 have been rendered invalid, with prospective personnel required to re-register on a newly developed digital platform.

The upgraded system, according to the NSA, is designed to improve data accuracy, enhance transparency, and allow real-time verification of service information.
