The National Service Authority (NSA) has released PIN codes for 132,393 final-year students across 100 accredited tertiary institutions to begin the registration process for the 2025/2026 national service year.
Announced in a statement on Tuesday, June 17, the NSA emphasized that this year’s figure reflects improved data quality following rigorous screening and validation processes.
According to the Authority, stricter checks helped eliminate inflated and unverifiable submissions — resulting in a 26% average drop compared to previous years, with the highest decline pegged at 36% from the 2022/2023 batch.
In total, 135,990 submissions were received from 122 institutions, but 3,597 were disqualified because they came from 22 unaccredited institutions not recognized by the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC).
NSA stated clearly that graduates from these institutions will not be deployed unless the Authority receives proof of accreditation.
Beyond the mainstream applicants, 908 PIN codes are being processed for private applicants — including Ghanaians who studied abroad and those who deferred or missed their service in previous years. These PINs will be released once final confirmations are received from their institutions.
To activate their PIN codes, applicants must pay GHS 40 at any ADB Bank branch, or GHS 41 via MTN Mobile Money.
Registration must then be completed through the NSA portal: https://smarthub.nss.gov.gh. Applicants unable to access their PINs by June 24 are advised to contact the NSA’s support team for assistance.
The Authority says it remains committed to transparency, accountability, and smooth deployment for all qualified graduates across the country.
