The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is holding its regional executive elections today, Saturday, August 15, as the party advances its internal reorganisation ahead of the 2028 general elections.
Delegates across the regions are voting to elect executives who will lead the party’s structures and coordinate its activities at the regional level.
The exercise is the latest phase of the NPP’s internal elections, following the completion of the polling station and constituency-level elections.
The party has deployed national representatives to the various regions to supervise the polls and ensure that the exercise is conducted in line with its approved electoral guidelines.
The representatives are also expected to monitor the conduct of the elections, document any irregularities and submit reports to the party leadership.
Regional Executive Elections Committees have meanwhile been directed to maintain professionalism, discipline and fairness throughout the voting and collation process.
The contests cover key positions including Regional Chairman, First and Second Vice Chairpersons, Secretary, Treasurer, Organiser, Women’s Organiser, Youth Organiser, Communications Officer and Nasara Coordinator.
The outcome of the elections is expected to shape the NPP’s regional leadership as the party works to strengthen its grassroots structures and prepare for the 2028 elections.
Meanwhile, the NPP is scheduled to hold its National Executive elections on October 3, 2026, marking another major stage in the party’s ongoing reorganisation.
Results from the regional contests are expected to be announced after voting and the collation of ballots have been completed.
