The National Identification Authority (NIA) is set to open two new Prestige 24/7 centres in the Ashanti Region this weekend as part of efforts to expand access to national identification services.
The new centres will add to the Prestige 24/7 facilities recently opened at Labone in Accra, which began operations about two weeks ago.
The expansion is expected to provide residents with greater flexibility in accessing NIA services beyond regular working hours, including evenings, weekends and other periods outside conventional office hours.
The initiative forms part of the NIA’s efforts to modernise and decentralise its service delivery while making national identification services more accessible to the public.
The opening of the two centres in the Ashanti Region is also expected to ease pressure on existing NIA facilities and provide residents with more convenient options for accessing identification-related services.
Further details on the locations and specific services available at the new Prestige 24/7 centres are expected to be announced as part of the weekend opening activities.
