Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, will present the 2026 Mid-Year Budget Review to Parliament today, Thursday, July 23, 2026, at 2 p.m.
The presentation will provide an update on Ghana’s economic performance in the first half of the year and outline the government’s fiscal and economic priorities for the remainder of 2026.
The Mid-Year Budget Review is a key part of Ghana’s fiscal management process, allowing the government to assess the implementation of the annual budget and make adjustments to revenue and expenditure measures where necessary.
Dr. Forson is expected to update Parliament on key macroeconomic indicators, government expenditure and revenue performance, as well as the utilisation of funds approved under the 2026 Budget.
Attention is also expected to focus on the government’s strategy to move the economy from stabilisation towards sustained growth, with job creation, increased productivity and private sector-led expansion among the key areas of interest.
The Finance Minister is further expected to provide an update on Ghana’s engagement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), including the government’s plans for economic management following the Extended Credit Facility programme.
Today’s presentation will offer government an opportunity to outline its economic outlook for the remainder of the year and announce any adjustments to fiscal policies and programmes.
