The Flag Bearer of the Opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) H.E John Dramani Mahama and the Member of Parliament for Sisala West, Hon. Muhammad Adams Sukparu led a delegation of NDC supporters and sympathizers to attend the pre-funeral rites of the Late Kuoro Kuri Buktir Limann IV who was the paramount Chief and President of the Gwollu Tradition Area.
Speaking at the event, the Former President Mahama recounted the cordial relationship he had with the late Chief Kuri Buktir Limann IV and described it as a son and father relationship.
“My relationship with the Late Chief was like Father and Son one. I am here to commiserate with you ahead of the main funeral because I consider my self as a member of the family. I don’t need to be invited officially for the main funeral because of I am one of you.” Mahama said.
Regarding the final funeral rites of the late Chief, Mahama reiterated his commitment to offer support to make sure that late Chief is given a befitting funeral in accordance with the custom and tradition of Gwollu traditional area.
On Behalf of the Gwollu Traditional Area, the Former President was received by the Vice President of the Gwollu traditional area and the Bullu Kuoro, Kuoro Abdul Rahaman Kasim Baata.
He thanked Former President for the kind gesture and also announced the final funeral dates scheduled, as the 28th/29th of June at the forecourt of Gwollu Kuoro’s palace.
